Family Owned Since 1956

During the 1950s, post-war Burlington was flourishing – a vibrant community of farms, residential land, and light industry. With the increasing population of factory workers came a need for good quality, inexpensive shoes that would be reliable for their workdays.

In 1956, Emil and Anna Svacina established Emille Shoes Ltd. on a dirty road named Fairview Street. At the time, this factory was the only building on the road, and would become the center from which other businesses would build. Working day and night, Emil and Anna directed their efforts towards supplying the workingman with dependable, tough safety shoes and boots.

In 1974, Milo Svacina took over his parents’ business – now a fully independently owned and operated business manufacturing shoes and boots, focused on safety footwear. He added to their success by creating Factory Shoe Outlet in 1976. What had begun as a one-man operation had rapidly grown into an outlet that serviced the entire community.

Together, Milo and son Christian worked on expanding Factory Shoe Outlet to meet the demand of the public and keep popular items in stock. Milo passed on the business to Christian in 1999. Despite the many changes through the years, Factory Shoe Outlet never sacrificed the cornerstone of their business: affordability and service.

Today, Factory Shoe Outlet aims to be your one-stop footwear paradise. With one of the largest selection of children’s shoes in the city, it’s easy to have your family put their best foot forward. With a wide selection of functional and trendy shoes at reasonable prices, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.
